The route of the "Giulia Andrea" is one of the most beautiful and fascinating in Salento, with stops along the way that will allow you to swim, sunbathe in total relaxation and admire the breath-taking views of the Adriatic coast.
We take off from the port of San Foca (Marina di Melendugno), a town on the Adriatic coast of Salento, 2 kilometers from Torre dell'Orso, 16 km from Otranto and about 20 km from Lecce. From San Foca we head south, towards Roca Vecchia, an ancient fortified city, where we will stop to swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Grotta della Poesia and to visit the fascinating archaeological excavations nearby.
The trip continues to Torre dell'Orso, a seaside resort characterized by its beach of fine silver coloured sand and spikes of limestone that are home to numerous ravines and the picturesque Grotta della Monaca. On the south side of the bay, a short distance from the beach, two sea stacks of similar shape meet under the name of "The two Sisters".
BoardingThe port of San Foca
Continuing in the direction of Otranto, we reach Torre Sant’Andrea, a particularly charming location due to its wild appearance, where we can admire the majestic cliffs, that the local fishermen call “Lu Bastimentu”, from the sea. The time it takes to sip a good aperitif on board and we have already arrived in Conca Specchiulla, a place known for its numerous inlets offering shelter from the wind.
In addition to the planned routes, it is possible to arrange customized departures, excursions and tours with the commander of the "Giulia Andrea".
On request, a tourist guide will join the crew onboard, telling you all about the history and legends associated with this splendid stretch of coast.
